Consumerism

This essay will describe the consumerism. It will argue that increased consumerism is not good for environment and employment.

The main argument is that I am against to increased consumerism because increased consumerism may have a negative impact on the environment. For example, people buy many goods, foods, and drinks in store or convenience store, it will increases waste packaging. Moreover, convenience store has been wasting many foods every day.  It is so wasteful. I think that these are disadvantaging for environmental.

Another strong argument is that increased consumerism may cause more pollution. For instance, people use many resources for drive a car, watch TV, and use shower, resources might lose in the world. I think that it is very horrible thing for around the world.

It is also important to note that consumerism increased more jobs, but in low paid areas, there are not good jobs such as farming, packaging, and sales. It is likely that people are going to have more jobs, but farming, packaging, and sales are not popular jobs. Therefore, there are may have not working people in low paid areas.

In conclusion, I think that increased consumerism is bad for environment and employment, so I am against to increase consumerism.

Fair Trade

There are some advantages in the fair trade. First of all, the fair trade helps to reduce environmental damage. Many fair trade producers use systems which allow the soil to recover naturally without chemicals. For example, producers of organic rice in Thailand use traditional techniques which do not use chemicals or exhaust the oil.
Secondly, the fair trade encourages development of the local communities. Producers of fair trade goods use their financial and technical expertise in their communities. For instance, a coffee co-operative in Mexico started a public bus service in the village.
In this way, the fair trade has some benefits for developing of the local communities and reducing environmental damage.
